The program's overall goal was to employ classic market transformation techniques to not only increase the use of solar, but to strengthen and stabilize the solar energy industry in Florida.  First through educational outreach and then by linking motivated, educated businesses with market ready technologies and certified installers, our intent was to install commercial systems at locations where they would positively influence other businesses and visiting consumers.

Solar Grant and Demonstration Project
Beyond the educational and outreach program aspects, FlaSEREF acquired one year of grant and demonstration funding from the Governor's Energy Office to stimulate the Florida commercial solar market. Our project goal during this year was the installation of 51 commercial systems. Ninety-two systems were actually installed, 10 of these systems were high profile installations whose sites afforded a broad range of educational opportunities.  The remaining 82 systems, partially funded through FlaSEREF grants, were installed at hotels, restaurants and condominium sites across Florida.
