• Solar Energy Incentives Program (rebate)
Florida businesses are eligible for a $4 per watt rebate (with a cap of $100,000) for the installation of a solar electric system and for a rebate of $15 per 1,000 BTU of production (with a cap of $5,000) for the installation of a solar water heating system. Residential rebates for solar electric systems are $4 per watt, with a cap of $20,000. Homeowners who install a solar water heater or solar pool heater also are eligible for rebates of $500 and $100 respectively. The rebate is available through the Governor's Energy Office. Please check current funding levels to determine to determine availability of funding.

• Solar Equipment Sales Tax Exemption
Solar equipment and its requisite hardware are exempt from Florida state sales and use tax. Labor is not taxable in Florida.

• Renewable Energy Property Tax Exemption
Applicable for systems installed after January 1, 2009. This exemption is the amount of the original cost of the device, including the installation cost.
