Two levels of commitment are available to participating builders, SunBuilt Gold and SunBuilt Silver. Builders who participate at the silver level agree to offer solar as an optional feature to all clients. For that pledge, they receive a $500 rebate for each system they install. SunBuilt Gold Builders install solar water heaters as a standard feature. For this commitment they receive a free solar water heater installed on a parade or model home in addition to the $500 rebate for each system installed. With homebuyers more conscious of long-term salability as well as short-term economics, solar is becoming a valuable selling point for builders.
